What the PayPal verification email looks like

PayPal sends its codes from an address at paypal.com and puts the digits after the words "security code". The length varies from 4 to 8 digits, and MailSMMO's PayPal rule reads any of those lengths.

Because the length changes, compare the number of digits PayPal's input box expects with the code you copy.

When you need a Gmail address for PayPal

  • Signing up for a PayPal account with an email address.
  • Confirming the email on a new or existing account.
  • Passing the security check when PayPal sees a login from a new device.
  • Resetting access with a code sent to the email on file.

Tips for getting the PayPal code on the first try

  • Create the order first, then request the code on PayPal. Only mail that arrives after the order exists is read, and the order lives for a 10-minute window by default.
  • Watch the order on the web or in Telegram, or poll GET /orders/otp about every 2 seconds from your tool. The code appears the moment the mail is received.
  • Start the PayPal flow first, then create the order and request the code, so the code you read belongs to the current request.
  • If PayPal sends several mails (welcome, confirmation), the code is in the one with "security code"; the order shows the extracted number, so there is no need to open the others.

Price, window and refund for PayPal

You pay the price shown at the top of this page when the order is created, for that single order. The default window is 10 minutes, and a code that arrived inside the window can still be read afterwards.

If no code arrives, the money goes back automatically: about 30 seconds after the window ends for Gmail from our own stock, and for Gmail bought from an external supplier as soon as that supplier reports the order expired. An order that received a code is never refunded, and orders cannot be cancelled.

Rent Gmail for PayPal through the API

Create an order with the service code otp_gmail_paypal, use the returned Gmail address on the site, then poll for the code. Reading the code needs only the order ID. The full reference is in the API docs.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the PayPal security code?

Between 4 and 8 digits depending on the flow. MailSMMO's PayPal rule handles all of those lengths.

Which sender does PayPal use?

An address at paypal.com. The API returns the sender with the code in the from field.

Can I rent a Gmail for PayPal through the API?

Yes. Create an order with service=otp_gmail_paypal, use the returned address on PayPal, then read the code with the order ID. See the example above.

How much does a Gmail for PayPal cost?

The live price per order and the stock are shown at the top of this page and on the pricing page. You are charged when the order is created, nothing more.

What if the PayPal code never arrives?

You get your money back automatically. For Gmail from our own stock the refund follows about 30 seconds after the 10-minute window ends; for Gmail from an external supplier it follows that supplier's refund. You do not need to ask.
