What the Amazon verification email looks like

Amazon's verification email comes from an address at amazon.com and carries a 6-digit one-time password, often introduced by the letters "OTP". MailSMMO's Amazon rule reads the 6-digit number, with or without that label.

The mail is brief and the code is the only part that matters, so you do not need to open it.

When you need a Gmail address for Amazon

  • Creating an Amazon account with an email address.
  • Verifying an email you add to an existing account.
  • Answering the one-time password challenge when you sign in from a new device.
  • Confirming an email while recovering account access.

Tips for getting the Amazon code on the first try

  • Create the order first, then request the code on Amazon. Only mail that arrives after the order exists is read, and the order lives for a 10-minute window by default.
  • Watch the order on the web or in Telegram, or poll GET /orders/otp about every 2 seconds from your tool. The code appears the moment the mail is received.
  • Stock for Amazon can be limited at times, so check the in-stock figure at the top of this page. If an order call returns out_of_stock, it is retryable: try again after a few seconds.
  • Order the address only when the Amazon verification screen is ready, because the 10-minute window starts when the order is created.

Price, window and refund for Amazon

You pay the price shown at the top of this page when the order is created, for that single order. The default window is 10 minutes, and a code that arrived inside the window can still be read afterwards.

If no code arrives, the money goes back automatically: about 30 seconds after the window ends for Gmail from our own stock, and for Gmail bought from an external supplier as soon as that supplier reports the order expired. An order that received a code is never refunded, and orders cannot be cancelled.

Rent Gmail for Amazon through the API

Create an order with the service code otp_gmail_amazon, use the returned Gmail address on the site, then poll for the code. Reading the code needs only the order ID. The full reference is in the API docs.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Amazon code 6 digits?

Yes. MailSMMO's Amazon rule reads a 6-digit number, with or without the "OTP" label in front of it.

Which sender does Amazon use for the verification email?

An address at amazon.com. The API returns the sender with the code in the from field.

Can I rent a Gmail for Amazon through the API?

Yes. Create an order with service=otp_gmail_amazon, use the returned address on Amazon, then read the code with the order ID. See the example above.

How much does a Gmail for Amazon cost?

The live price per order and the stock are shown at the top of this page and on the pricing page. You are charged when the order is created, nothing more.

What if the Amazon code never arrives?

You get your money back automatically. For Gmail from our own stock the refund follows about 30 seconds after the 10-minute window ends; for Gmail from an external supplier it follows that supplier's refund. You do not need to ask.
